Brand Campaign Thinking/Brainstorm

(Writing for Brand)

For our assignment in Brand campaign thinking/brainstorm (Writing for Brand), we were asked to choose an initiative. As part of the previous exercises, I chose regenerative agriculture (RA) for my project. I created a campaign strategy based on my research on applying RA for small-scale farmers in the rural areas of the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The campaign strategy aims to reach out to the local farmers as a resource center with

the goal of providing educational and technology support about RA. Some of the proposed deliverables were website design, social media badges, and printed materials. This magazine cover is part of the print collateral proposal. Professor Tyler Whisnand provided guidance, critique,
and direction.

Rebrand of the 1976  James Taylor Greatest Hits Album Cover

Example of Branding Lab 1 (Fall 2023) Assignment. The challenge is to rebrand the 1976  James Taylor Greatest Hits album cover to capture the present market segment of millennials and genz's and still become relevant to baby boomers and

gen x. The proposal was for James Taylor to collaborate with the top 12 contemporary vocalists and do a duet recording of each songs from the original album (e.g Beyonce, John Legend, Lady Gaga, etc.), thus creating a whole new album. Branding Lab 1 is under the tutelage of Professor Charles Lin.

(The image above is a place holder. I do not have the right to use the photo of James Taylor as it appeared on my final work presented and submitted to the class.)

AeroFarms Rebranding Final Posters

AeroFarms toplisted the ag sector as a company with a high-tech angle. AeroFarms is a leading vertical farming company that utilizes  innovative technology (the patented aeroponic growing system) to grow fresh and nutritious produce in urban environments. As AeroFarms continues to expand its operations and reach wider audience, it is essential to develop a strong and compelling brand identity that reflects its values, mission, and commitment to sustainability.

Rebranding focus in the next 20 years: Through licensing, AeroFarms grants the rights to use their patented technology to third parties. This includes providing access to their proprietary designs, processes, and know-how related to the aeroponic system. In return, the licensee typically pays royalties or licensing fees to AeroFarms.

Lasaura (Design Research and Strategy, Branding Lab 1, and Business and Branding)

On Mars in the year 2040, Lasaura is the only Celestial Living Tech that helps anxious tech-enthusiasts make their home into a living sanctuary.

Our team engaged and analyzed emerging trends, technological advancements, cultural shifts, and consumer behaviors to anticipate future opportunities and challenges for Lasaura. Through research, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving, we shaped Lasaura’s vision, values, messaging, and brand experience to project our competitive advantage.

For our video deliverable we showcased the experience of living on Mars with the benefits of Lasaura home automation system rather than the product itself. Our team used Midjourney for the following sample images with prompts from our researches and studies.

Serafina (Branding Futures)

Our team researched the trends of holistic health with wearable technology, for the next 20 years. We chose to develop an urban retreat center in the LA Arts District with spa, indoor beauty and wellness serenity bot, Ai-supported wearable attire, a health tracking app, and personal care stations. We brainstormed the name from the word cherubim as LA is known for the city of angels. Serafina was the final name.

Serafina is a necessary element in urban development. Alleviating the physical and mental stress of living in a busy place is a necessity. The addition of Serafina in the heart of Los Angeles is a welcomed vision of a city that cares for its people.

Branding and Design History (Fall 2023)

Sean Adams, Professor

TIME AND SPACE

History as a subject in class has always been fun and interesting. Since grade school one of my favorite subjects was history.

Time is a great factor in history. A great deal of major events in history, in general, was because of human influence. But also, a great deal are inexplainable and uncontrollable. Progress happens. We focused on what we can control and became inventive, innovative, and creative. Also, technology happens. The ingenuity of men is unstoppable, overwhelming sometimes.

Branding and Design History incredibly enlightened me of the reasons and motivations behind the conception and birth of brands.

Through time a good brand grows and remains in the hearts and minds of the consumers. We are so privileged and blessed in this country

that we have multitudes of brand to choose to our liking to the point of confusion and indecision. Technology conspires to hasten our purchasing power of these brands.

I am just an unknown observer of the genius of mankind. I see the ancient hunter in France with his cave drawings, the industry of the women brick makers in Rome, and the persistence of men in differentiating their products through time.

I also see the minds of the creative geniuses that is Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, and Elon Musk, to mention a few.

These men endowed with such gifts and thinking, contributed greatly to the history of brands, consciously and unconsciously.

They dream and wake up to work hard and make those dreams come true. They dragged with them like-minded geniuses

and made the world and humankind better.

What would be next in brand, history, and time? We can wisely guess. With the help of technology (Ai for example), we might be able to predict the unknown future, the uncertainty of the financial world, even global events. But how accurate would we be?

In this journal, per week’s class, I chose memorable and remarkable part of the notes, highlighted it, reflected and researched on it on how it personally affected me and our current time. Some bring nostalgia, others draw out inspiration and imagination to future creative quests

and opportunities.

Thanks, Sean, for inspiring us.

Writing for Brand (Tyler Whisnand)

Week 5 Assignment (Fall 2023)

Please write some writing advice to yourself.

What are your goals? What do you want to improve?

What is your vision as a writer?

What rules or guidelines do you want to follow?

(@300 words)

"Reason is the natural order of truth; but imagination is the organ of meaning." - C.S. Lewis

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." - Albert Einstein

Necessity is the mother of all inventions. Plato said that? Deep within us is a longing to be narrative. Quotations are witty. They catch your attention.

Writing is a necessity to communication. God created the world through speech – “Let there be light, and there was light”, but the Bible was handed to us in written form. God must have a predestined plan about writing.

Me, a writer? I have never imagined myself as a writer. But I do write a lot – grocery list, things to do, recipes, and vacation travel itineraries, to mention a few. I am analog in some sense, I prefer pen and paper over digital device. If I am a writer, I will tell myself to procure inspiration and imagination through reading and research. My sources will be the Bible, writings of C.S. Lewis, and some great quotations of Albert Einstein and other great writers. But I’m open to other great writings and authors.

I am not a writer but if I am one, I will write about the verses in the Bible, how the truth was hammered in my heart and how it relates to the state of mankind – in history and at the present.

I don’t consider myself a writer, but if I am a writer, I would like to travel and write about the history and culture of a certain place and befriend the locals in exploring culinary adventures, music, and photodocument some unchartered sites and landscapes. But if I can’t travel, I like to find some ordinary places like a library, a serene spot in a café, or even a luscious remote garden with some peace and quiet. I would like to combine writing with sketches, and some art forms like collages of found objects and mementos. I would paint and write about my painting and vice versa.

And so, the hoarding of notebooks, sketch books, and journals continues.

Business and Branding (Lauren Cantor)

“I took my morning coffee. It was a pill. According to the Coalition, shipment of supplies will be delayed for a couple of months.
I have been using my emergency hydration and nutrition pills for the last 13 days. My cat’s human-inspired food is also running low.

On the positive note, our moisture absorber room is efficiently working as the Coalition’s utilities department has boosted

their water and moisture discovery and exploration. After my mist shower, I took another coffee pill, put a couple in my pocket, and head out to work in my space suit. Today is field work. A selected group of engineers was assigned to explore an area of possible vegetation.
Our goal for today is to gather soil and rock samples for laboratory testing and experiments”.

I was awaken by my cat’s meowing. It’s 9:56 A.M. already. These recurring dreams of my life in Mars has been persistent since I was diagnosed with schizophrenia”.

Predications, assumptions, and conjectures. Why not? We can build a whole new world and “reality” using those. It’s an exciting way to ignite our thinking and creativity. With those we can suspend the harsh reality of this world and trade it for a better one. Isn’t that Netflix
or Shyamalan’s movie? That was exceptionally mastered by Disney, Spielberg, and Lucas, to mention a few. It’s not escapism.

“Get back to work, you slacker.”

So many MDes, so little time.
